The Academy’s Spiritual theme for the 2020-2021 School Year: Thrive

“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.” Maya Angelou

How timely was last years spiritual theme of resilience? It was a trait to possess during such an unorthodox and unforeseen season of our lives. Though our school year ended a few months earlier than scheduled, we were able to press through and finish the year strong. If we are honest, we have spent the past several months in survival mode. We survived school. We survived work. Doing what was necessary to press through until we reach the next moment. It is always our focus at Hosanna to depend therefore on the Lord and yet find new ways to grow and excel. Our use of resilience to survive the times behind us have positioned us to go a step further and progress forward with passion, persistence and a willingness to propel above any seen and unseen circumstances.

Thrive is defined as to grow vigorously, to flourish; to progress toward or realize a goal despite or because of circumstances. We thrive not when we have done it all, but when we still have more to do. Resilience got us started but thrive that will push is forward. Our goal for this school year spiritually, educationally and in our community is to THRIVE.

James 1:12 “Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.” (ESV)

You were not made to merely survive life, work, school or family. You were not made to exist until you can get over the next hump or get to the next break. You were created for one purpose: to know God and make Him known. You are not living the life you were created to live until you live a life that you can thrive in. You were made to THRIVE.
