The 2009 Lady Blazers completed a successful volleyball season. After a rough start saw the girls lose eight of their first ten games, these resilient young ladies turned the season around. They won thirteen of their last sixteen regular season games to finish with a 15-11 record. They won a district championship with a perfect 12-0 district record. This is the second title in three years for the program. Between the two title years, the 2008 team finished as district runner-up. They were recently defeated by Delcambre in the LHSAA state playoffs.

 

Several players were recognized by the district coaches. Junior Kelli Kedroske was named  the Most Valuable Player in the district. Senior Ashleigh Burdette joined Kelli on the All District 1st team while Junior Shelby Corsentino was named to the 2nd team. Seniors Gabby Penny and Jacqueline Britton received honorable mention. Coach Cotina Marshall was named district Coach of the Year.
